Should people be able to sue for emotional damage for the loss of a pet?

- While I was working in North Georgia, my families 13 year old border collie Ike died of strangulation...He was tied on a 75 foot run and somehow got tangled in some tree limbs and couldn't get his front paws back on the ground.

- It's a sad commentary on the effects of the human race on the planet we all depend on. It's also sad in the respect that we as a people don't really have very many choices. We have to work in order to keep up with everyday life and the prices of the things we need and desire.
